Bought this boot for my daughter for Guide camp. She liked the colour (greys with mroon red contrasts), and the fit seems true for size. The front laces are a little hard to adjust tightly, but in general this is a robust well made low profile boot with an element of weaterproofing that is excellent value. Sole has good grip & not too heavy, some protection for toes. Seems to have survived the trip in good shape.

This was a really, really good purchase. The shoes are comfortable and waterproof - the two things I needed. The cost is an absolute bonus as they are a fraction of the price in the shops.

I am a size 5'5 to 6 with a wide foot and a high instep. I ordered a size 6 based on a previous review that they come up on the small size. The size 6 is very generous and the 5.5 or even a 5 may have been a slightly better fit for me. With a thick sock and an innersole, however, they are very wearable so I'm sticking with what I've got: a bargain!

Usually with walking shoes I have to break them in over a couple of weeks or so - but never with  Hi-Tec's. You can put these on and keep them on all day with no pains or blisters. i really love these shoes! very flexi, even though looks and feel quite strong and strudy. i would say 5* for everything, - very good cushioning, lining and padding at the back and the sides- amazing. no chance that u could 'rub' ur foot, doing those miles!!! as it is mere impossible with that interior that these shoes offer!!! i am completely happy with the pair, and even got my son ( he is 11) a pair of women size 5, - ha ha- but he does not know, just walks them happy!!!

this is overall product summary.

There are few things i would like to point out: i have a standard foot size 7, - not wide, not long/skinny. these shoes will make a perfect pair for somebody with a wide food. my son actually, having a wide one. so was just excellent! wen i put foot into this size 7 - i would easily be able to slip into something like 6.5 of the same.... or even firm 6, with the expectation for the wear and tear... but i do not 'live' in this shoes, may be wear once in 2- 3 weeks, so i am still absolutelly content!

Fab shoes. Comfortable and study. I wore them climbing, walking and abseiling. Fit for purpose and an affordable price. Would def. advise buying. Colour is like picture also.


These shoes are supposed to be a size 4 - and they're really tiny: more like a small size 3. I had to return them because they were so small, but unfortunately the seller only does refunds, no exchanges. Otherwise, I would have got a size 5 as I really liked the shoes and they looked great and good quality. Only problem was I was squished in them.




I wear Hi-Tec shoes because they accommodate my wide feet. This walking shoe did not disappoint: it is very comfortable and is light-weight while also offering good foot support (perfect for hiking). A well-made and reasonably-priced hiking shoe.



I read the reviews before buying and was in two minds due to some of the negative comments. Once I got them and tried them on I went to pick my son up from school and found them to be really comfortable. They are a perfect fit, don't rub and are as I found out on another occasion, perfectly waterproof.




This is the second time i bought these shoes. The first shoes survived a month in Kenya and eight months in Cambodia. They are super comfortable. I especially like that even though the sole is quite thick and has grip it is very flexible and you can feel the ground very well. Which is very good for balance. I prefer to wear these instead of bulky hiking boots. Highly recommend.


Bought as a present for my mum who despairs at finding shoes that fit her wide size 8s. Took a chance based on previous reviews and to her shock they fitted. Apparently they are very comfortable and look very good when she goes on walks. Prompt delivery too.

It's June and have just got back from a weekend in Snowdonia. 1000ft up on an outcrop on one of the smaller hills. Woke up to 55mph winds, driving rain, and the storm blew ALL day. Gave this tent a serious test - and it passed! The poles were really flexing in the wind and the back of the tent was actually flattening right down from the force of the wind, but it sprang back each time, maintained its shape, stayed intact and more incredibly stayed dry inside!

The two entrance doors - one on each side were very useful as when the wind was blasting from behind I opened one door, later on in the day it was buffeting from the opposite direction and so I went out the other door.

The porch area groundsheet is zipped to the main area groundhseet at a slight slope. This is good because when the wind was pushing the rain under the edges of the outer tent it didn't even get halfway up to the interior. Plus the porch area groundsheet can be easily unzipped and the mud/water rinsed off.

My one advice - if you are going to be pitching this in an exposed area then make use of all 14 anchor points, plus even buy some longer, stronger, sturdier pegs because I found the ones supplied weren't quite long enough to keep them being pulled out of the ground from the pressure of the wind. (Way of getting round this was to drive the pegs within an inch of the floor or less and then place a heavy rock on top of each peg, and also placing more rocks on the black straps at the tent entrance, and also placing a couple around the edges of the porch groundsheet.

One little point about the guy ropes - they are great in being a highly visible bright green, (They almost glow) but they were becoming slightly loose in the wind so I was having to go out every few hours to tighten them. I'm thinking they would be easily modifiable with better guy-rope grips though.

Feature-wise there are mesh panels to keep the mozzies out, six side posckets on the inside of the tent, and a good ventilation system . The inside of the tent is very well ventilated, with vents even at the top of the tent. This makes it a bit fresh in high wind, (The vents tend to come open in the wind) but on the plus side it doesn't let in water, get sweaty or bad smelling and doesn't really drip condensation. Just make sure you have warm clothes and a snug sleeping bag!

This tent is well made, strong, sensibly designed and well worth every penny - the weather turned quick and I weighted and tied it down well it didn't let me down. I trust and recommend it. (Though of course don't recommend staying out in Snowdonia during a storm...NOT sensible, and very yuck...)

I do almost all my backpacking in the deserts of Southern California. As I go solo most the time I was looking for a lightweight bivy option, and one that was waterproof (I already have a pure mesh "bug bivy"). The Aqua Quest caught my eye because it was large - I'm 6'2, 260lbs so I need something with some shoulder girth. I purchased it and have been very happy with it. It's sturdy and well-made, almost completely waterproof - proven on it's maiden night out when an unexpected desert thunderstorm rolled in and soaked the area for hours. It has a no-see-um mesh top with a rain cover that zips over it when it rains. The "fly" simply folds down so you can just use it with the mesh on dry nights.

Being a single wall bivy a slight "film" of moisture did form where ever my bag touched the fabric, but nothing that was close to soaking my bag. Just a hint of moisture that was more sensed than felt, some might complain but it didn't bother me in the least and I use it as my 3 season bivy go to bag. That's the only reason I said "almost completely waterproof". The "tub" floor was totally dry and I woke up sitting in a puddle of water that had collected UNDER the closed bivy on my ground cloth, which I didn't know about until I unzipped and stuck my hand down to get out.

It's not the lightest bivy out there, but I wanted some decent protection and this does the trick. Sleeping on the desert floor during the spring/summer is asking to be intimate with all sorts of creepy crawlies and I always use either a mesh bug bivy or the Aqua Quest if I'm expecting weather. It is a close fit for me, but then I'm larger than the average guy and I can sleep comfortably in it. I put my boots in the space above my head, a water bottle and jacket and that's about it. My pack stays outside.

One cool feature is the little window in the zip up rain cover. It's like peeping out of a welder's mask and when the lightning flashed I watched the storm crash around me in total comfort.

I bought mine online so I couldn't try it first in a store, but I've been very happy and would recommend it to all.

GREAT TENT-GREAT BUY! Alps has a great product line I didn't know about! This tent is more than I expected-lightweight aluminum pole system set up easily, especially with the clips that fasten the tent to the pole structure. Absolutely no problem setting up the tent by myself. The fly installed easily using a simple buckle system on the four tent corners. The fly completely covers the tent so there's no drip line on the tent itself. The floor space was large enough for a double-bed-size blowup mattress plus some. The two vestibules are key storage space outside the tent and not found on many tents. The zippers work well and didn't bind at all. I pitched the tent in soft soil, but in harder soil conditions I would recommend stouter tent stakes (short top-hook aluminum come with the tent). The guying that comes with the tent for the fly works well to hold off the fly from the tent to keep condensation and moisture out of the tent. I don't think this tent is heavy at all, and would carry it in/out of a campsite without hesitation. I'll still treat the seams for moisture penetration. There are two screened openings on the sides and one at the top that you can't close, just so you know. We camped out in 40F weather and were fine with good sleeping bags and down comforters though. Enjoy!

I bought this tent because I was in a crunch planning for a camping vacation. The other tent that I had sprung a leak after I set it up to check it out. When I went inside to have a cup, my daughter went Psycho and started poking holes through the tent multiple times with a stake. I did not have enough to send it off to get it fixed so I bought this. I received the tent and went into the garden to practice setting it up (daughter now named "tentkiller" was at the kindergarten". I was surprised at how easy it was. The inner shell is attached inside with quick release clips and does not have to be set up separately. The poles (2) go through a webbing that is outside the shell of the tent. I think this is really clever because the poles contacting the tent will not be a potential leak point. The stakes go in the front and back inner and outer shell straps. Stake the sides. Stake the ropes. That's it, Bobs your uncle. Start to finish was 6 minutes after the third practice. The tent is roomy on the inside for two people and cozy for two. My wife is on the smaller side so I do think it would be tight for two husky people. The storage area on the entrance is large enough for the shoes and a daypack. The storage on the other side is large enough for the 70 litre pack. Unfortunately, it does not come with a ground sheet for these areas so if it was wet you would have to have a bag or other waterproof item to set your packs on. Dis-assembly was just as easy and fit into the compression bag that it came in. The tent is relatively light, 1.4 kg, and small if packed right. I am happy.
